The interior of the aircraft was highly organized - political team and Secret Service in the front, print media ('pencils') next, then radio, and finally the television crews. That allowed the TV crews to run down the aft air stair and then catch Ferraro coming down the front stairs.

We all received a box lunch which usually included a piece of fruit. When the plane would start its climb, the Ferraro crew and the Secret Service would roll all their fruit down the isle at us.

During decent, the press who had carefully saved all the fruit, would roll it all back down the isle to the front.
