This Console was where the mission was controlled and monitored. At the left sat the Mission Director, the middle location was mine, and the computer operator was to the right.

The researchers sat forward of this console near the back of the telescope and out of the picture to the left. Another console can be seen at the left of this picture (forward) which was the position occupied by the Tracker Operator. His job was to point the telescope to the correct location based on his knowledge of astronomy.
