Dual Diversity Radio Teletype
This was a typical answer to poverty. How could the station do a news cast when they couldn't afford to subscribe to a news service? The answer was to intercept international radio teletype news services. My Navy ECM experience came in handy! We used two Drake R-4C general coverage HF receivers, two ST-6 teletype terminal units, a home made diversity combiner, and a pair of model-28 teletype machines. We were able to receive news from 21 countries for free with this equipment. |
