 | Empty 25-Foot Refrigerated Semi-Trailer This trailer served many a year carrying produce to market. It looked like the perfect insulated box to make into a transmitter building. It had a number of outstanding characteristics. First of all, it had wheels and could be moved up the 13-mile fire road to the transmitter site on the peak of Mt. St. Helena without too much trouble. Next was the insulation - six inches of it. The winters are nasty up there and the inside needed protection from the elements. And finally, the price was right - $600 including towing to the top!
