7GHz Inner City Relay Dish

The 8-foot Andrews Extreme High Efficiency Dish is mounted to a 4-1/2 pipe secured in 2 yards of concrete and bolted to the side of the building using a 'V' structure. The 'V' is secured to the building on the inside with a 1-inch thick plate.

One week after this picture was taken this mountain became the epicenter of the San Francisco Earthquake.  This entire installation including the 2 GHz ENG receive site and this 7 GHz inner-city relay continued to operate without a hitch.  It was used extensively during the weeks that followed to cover the earthquake's aftermath.
