Marty Knudson - U2 Pilot
Marty was one of the first 7 pilots selected to fly the CIA's super secret U2 during the heart of the cold war. It was pure chance that he wasn't shot down instead of Gary Powers - they drew straws and Gary 'won' that mission. He went on to fly the U2 for 21 years - for the CIA, the USAF, and NASA. If you're interested, pick up a copy of Ben Rich's book The Skunk Works. Marty has a chapter in the book about some of his adventures. (He was also the chief pilot at NASA Ames Research and flew the KAO.)
