I first met Dave the day I applied for a job with the NASA Kuiper Airborne Observatory in 1991. We worked together for 5 years until the KAO was shut down. I headed off to Korea and Dave ended up in Arizona working at an observatory there.

Now he's back at NASA Ames Research Center and is working on the SOFIA project.
