The soldiers who are stationed in the DMZ area are specially selected for their large size. This ROK (Republic Of Korea) soldier will stand in this position with his fists clenched for 30 minutes or so before being relieved.

Only a few feet away behind the camera stands his North Korean counterpart. A yellow line runs across the floor and over the top of the negotiating table. Cross the line and you have entered North Korea.

Before entering the DMZ you are required to sign a waver acknowledging that the US military cannot guarantee your safety. The tour is a sobering experience.
