My helicopter was checked out Saturday the 27th of August 2011. Here Doug Schwochert, the Helicycle test pilot, is making a quick stop. This is a maneuver that all helicopter pilots need to perfect to avoid unexpected obstacles. That evening Doug (foreground), and Hap Miller, owner/builder of serial number 1-1, head off on a short hop from Rio Vista Airport just before sunset. The smoke is from a brush fire burning in the hills - not the helicopter exhaust. To read more about my project use the menu at the left.
